Warren Zaïre-Emery: PSG’s Young Prodigy with Bright Future Ahead
In just two years, Warren Zaïre-Emery has made his mark at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), stepping onto the pitch in Ligue 1, the Champions League, and even representing France on the international stage. His remarkable journey culminated with his debut in a major competition at the Euro, leaving coaches Didier Deschamps and Christophe Galtier in awe of his talent.
Warren Zaïre-Emery, now 18 years old, has already gone through nearly two full seasons with PSG. He made his professional debut in August 2022 when Christophe Galtier called him into action against Clermont Foot at the tender age of 16, making him the youngest player in PSG history to achieve such a feat. This remarkable record was repeated in October 2022 when he appeared in the Champions League against Maccabi Haifa, once again under the guidance of Galtier.
Galtier: “Warren has superior intelligence”
In a documentary titled Warren: Major Year, aired by Canal+, Christophe Galtier emphasized how advanced Warren Zaïre-Emery is compared to his peers. He remarked, “Warren has superior intelligence. He utilizes that intelligence for his profession, his sport, and for his team.”
Deschamps: “Precocious, gifted”
Didier Deschamps, the head coach of the French national team, who brought him into the squad in November 2023 and selected him for the Euro, praised Warren Zaïre-Emery despite him not having played a single minute until the semi-final loss against Spain. Deschamps noted, “Everything happened very quickly; I don’t want to say too quickly, but very quickly. Precocious, gifted.”
