Warren Zaïre-Emery Out of Belgium Match Due to Calf Injury
Warren Zaïre-Emery, the promising PSG talent, had a brief appearance during France’s match against Italy on Friday night, but his participation in the upcoming Euro 2024 and the Nations League has been cut short due to injury. The French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed that the young midfielder will miss the crucial clash against Belgium on Monday evening.
Injury sidelining the young star
Selected by Didier Deschamps for the Euro 2024 squad, Warren Zaïre-Emery had yet to see any action in Germany. However, he made an impact when he entered the field in the 77th minute against Italy. Unfortunately, he sustained a calf injury during the match.
Left calf strain confirmed
As reported by the FFF on Saturday afternoon, Zaïre-Emery is suffering from a left calf strain, ruling him out of the upcoming France-Belgium match, part of the Nations League group stage. The young star will return to his club team, PSG, before the end of the international break.
Deschamps confirms Zaïre-Emery’s absence
“Warren Zaïre-Emery will not participate in the match against Belgium on Monday, September 9, at Lyon-Decines. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder injured his calf during his substitution against Italy on September 6 at Parc des Princes. This Saturday, he underwent radiological examinations that confirmed the muscle injury. After discussions with Dr. Franck Le Gall, Didier Deschamps has confirmed Zaïre-Emery’s absence,” stated the official FFF website. Fans are now left wondering when the talented midfielder will be able to return to action with PSG.
