Warren Zaïre-Emery Aims to Reclaim Starting Spot After PSG’s Narrow Victory Over Angers
Following Paris Saint-Germain’s narrow victory over Angers SCO (1-0), Warren Zaïre-Emery addressed the media, expressing his desire to reclaim his spot in the starting lineup.
After starting matches against Tottenham and Nantes, Zaïre-Emery found himself on the bench for PSG’s first home game of the season at Parc des Princes against Angers. The return of Joao Neves from suspension pushed the promising young French international to a substitute role. Entering the match in the 66th minute, the young talent had half an hour to impress coach Luis Enrique. Although his introduction did not alter the game’s outcome, Zaïre-Emery remains determined about his future.
“My goal is to regain my confidence, enjoy my game again, and earn my place back. I want to be where I was two years ago and last year. I will give my all to restore my self-belief. I know what I need to do,” he stated in the mixed zone.
“Challenging against low blocks”
When asked about the difficulties of facing teams that set up defensively, as Angers did, Zaïre-Emery shared his thoughts. “It’s always complicated, but it’s up to us to adapt. We need to increase the tempo and move the ball quickly to create openings for our chances.“
“Every season, we aim to be as competitive as possible. There will always be room for improvement, and we will do everything we can to achieve that. We still want to win it all,” he concluded.
