Victor Osimhen’s Future at PSG: Truth Behind the Speculation
As the summer transfer window approaches its end, the saga surrounding Victor Osimhen continues to capture headlines. Despite remaining at Napoli, the Nigerian striker is linked with numerous clubs, particularly Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). With Kylian Mbappé yet to be replaced and Gonçalo Ramos sidelined for several months, PSG’s interest in Osimhen is intensifying. However, sports commentator Daniel Riolo has stepped in to clarify the situation regarding this potential transfer.
Is a fifth signing on the horizon for PSG?
As the transfer deadline looms, questions arise about PSG’s need for a new striker. Following the injury to Gonçalo Ramos and the ongoing absence of Kylian Mbappé, manager Luis Enrique may be seeking fresh talent in attack. While PSG has reportedly stated that no new forwards will be acquired before the window closes, speculation surrounding Victor Osimhen refuses to die down. Recent reports from Italian media suggested that PSG was preparing a final bid of €50-60 million for the Naples forward, although these claims were subsequently denied.
“He is the one fueling the speculation”
So, what are the chances of Osimhen making a move to PSG? In a segment on L’After Foot, Daniel Riolo shed light on the intricacies of this situation. According to Riolo, the growing excitement surrounding a potential transfer is largely driven by the player himself rather than PSG, which is not currently interested. He stated: “It has been a long time since we said Osimhen is not in discussions with PSG. He is not negotiating with PSG. It is he, through his agents, who is stoking the flames around a possible move, but there isn’t even the beginning of a conversation.”
Is Osimhen unwanted at PSG?
Just days ago, Daniel Riolo also hinted at the slim chances of Victor Osimhen joining the PSG squad before the summer transfer window closes. He remarked about the striker from Napoli: “Honestly, if Osimhen arrives by the 31st, it would mean that there are very important people in this club who are failing to make crucial decisions. It indicates that the club is not functioning as it should. This wouldn’t be the choice of Luis Campos, nor likely that of Luis Enrique, and perhaps even less so for Enrique.”
