Rodrigo Mora Set to Leave FC Porto for Al-Ittihad, Snubbing PSG Interest

A Portuguese talent may slip away from Paris Saint-Germain. Rodrigo Mora is reportedly on the verge of leaving FC Porto to join Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

Another young player seems set to be lured by the charms of the Saudi Pro League. Following in the footsteps of Enzo Millot and Saimon Bouabré, Rodrigo Mora is expected to make the move to Saudi Arabia in the coming days of the summer transfer window. This suggests he is not inclined to head to the French capital.

According to British journalist Ben Jacobs, the attacking midfielder from Porto has reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad regarding the terms of his future contract. The club that features stars like Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté still needs to convince the Portuguese team. Ongoing negotiations mention a transfer fee exceeding 70 million euros.

A Setback for Paris

The 18-year-old prodigy was frequently linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, who have been recruiting several Portuguese players in recent years (including Vitinha, Ramos, Joao Neves, and Nuno Mendes), largely thanks to Luis Campos’ network. Despite his young age, Rodrigo Mora appears to favor a departure to the Gulf region.

Last season, the 1.68m right-footed player dazzled Europe with his dribbling skills and speed. In his first real season with the professionals, he scored 12 goals and provided 4 assists. However, this year, he did not seem to fit into the plans of FC Porto’s new coach, Francesco Farioli.
