Rashford Eyes AC Milan Loan Amid Manchester United Exit Talks
Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is reportedly in talks with AC Milan regarding a potential loan move in January, as the English forward seeks playing time away from Old Trafford.
Initial discussions underway
According to insiders, Rashford’s representatives have traveled to Italy to initiate talks with Milan’s recruitment team. The Serie A club, under new management with Sergio Conceicao replacing Paulo Fonseca, is exploring options for the winter transfer window.
However, the deal might face complexities as Milan already boasts a strong attacking lineup, including players like Rafael Leao, Christian Pulisic, and Tammy Abraham. Moreover, United would need to subsidize Rashford’s wages to make the loan appealing for the Italian side.
Potential hurdles in the deal
Rashford, sidelined by United’s new manager Ruben Amorim, is eager to find new opportunities. Besides Milan, Borussia Dortmund and PSG have shown interest in the 27-year-old. Offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia were also made, but Rashford declined, showing no interest in a move to the Middle East.
Former United teammate and Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now in a management role with the Rossoneri, supports the idea of bringing Rashford to Milan. Ibrahimovic believes the move would be beneficial for both the player and the club.
What lies ahead?
As January approaches, it remains to be seen whether Milan can finalize a deal that satisfies all parties involved. For Rashford, a move to Italy could provide a fresh start and the opportunity to reignite his career away from the pressures of the Premier League.
