Racing Club de Lens Falls to PSG: Will Still Calls for Improvement Ahead of Nantes Match

Racing Club de Lens faced a challenging match against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday night, ultimately falling 1-0 in the 10th round of Ligue 1.

Despite their offensive intentions, the Lens team struggled to outplay the capital club. In the post-match press conference, coach Will Still highlighted the various mistakes made by his players.

“There are details that are currently against us. I think the biggest regret is conceding a goal from a defensive throw-in where the distances were too large, allowing them to escape our pressing too easily. There were positives, especially in the second half. We had better control, we watched them play less, and we were more aggressive. […] To take points here, you need to be very, very, very good. We were not for long stretches of the match,” he stated.

Bouncing back against Nantes

Racing Club de Lens finds itself in a tough spot, having lost their last two Ligue 1 matches—first against Lille OSC in the Derby du Nord, and now against PSG. Currently, they sit in 8th place, awaiting Stade Rennais’s match against Auxerre on Sunday.

The Sang et Or must regroup for their next match against FC Nantes to avoid slipping into a three-match winless streak. This upcoming fixture is crucial ahead of their clash with Olympique de Marseille following the international break on November 23.
