Quentin Ndjantou’s Rising Star: Youth League Exit Looms After Champions League Play
Quentin Ndjantou could be facing a pivotal moment in his career as he may have to bid farewell to the UEFA Youth League if he features in a third Champions League match.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been making waves with Paris Saint-Germain’s senior squad since mid-September. After making appearances in the Champions League against FC Barcelona earlier this month (1-2) and Bayer Leverkusen last week (2-7), Ndjantou risks losing his eligibility to compete in the UEFA Youth League if he plays in another Champions League match.
According to Article 28 of the competition regulations: “Any player who appears in three or more matches in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and/or UEFA Conference League (from the group stage of these competitions) during the 2025/26 season is no longer eligible for the UEFA Youth League“, as reiterated by the specialized site Culture PSG.
The Challenging Journey of PSG’s Youth League Squad
While the professional squad of PSG is thriving in the Champions League with a perfect record of nine points from three matches, the U19 team, coached by Jean-François Vulliez, is facing a much tougher challenge. The young talents have encountered similar opponents to the senior team, managing a victory against Atalanta (5-1), suffering a loss to Barcelona (2-1), and drawing with Leverkusen (2-2).
In his debut Youth League match, Quentin Ndjantou shone brightly, scoring a hat-trick against Atalanta at the Campus.
