PSG’s Unforgettable Season: Al-Khelaifi’s Strong Statement After Historic Year
A season of unprecedented success
Despite the final setback, **PSG’s season was marked by extraordinary achievements**, highlighted by their long-awaited European success. On Wednesday evening, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi expressed deep gratitude to the entire PSG family for their efforts throughout this remarkable year. He urged the club not to rest on its laurels and to continue striving for excellence.
“As the most unforgettable season in our history comes to a close, I extend a massive thank you to the entire PSG family. This season, we often forget how demanding it was, with numerous competitions across multiple countries and high-level challenges. But through our collective spirit and daily battles for the club and each other, this season will remain the most beautiful ever experienced by PSG. Winning our first Champions League title, with the second-youngest team in the competition’s history and the youngest in PSG’s history, and playing a style that captivated commentators worldwide, will be etched forever in football’s annals. This triumph joins our victories in Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the Trophée des Champions, not to mention the exceptional performances of our handball, judo, women’s football teams, our training center, eSports, and our 26 Paris 2024 Olympic athletes,” Al-Khelaifi declared.
Aiming higher
Al-Khelaifi continued, reflecting on their journey in the United States: “This month, our ambition was to become world champions, having already secured memorable victories against some of the world’s top clubs. Despite the season’s length, we can be extremely proud of finishing as world finalists. These achievements are the result of everyone’s hard work—past presidents, players, coaches, sporting directors, and collaborators. I especially want to thank our football division, employees, partners, our exceptional coach Luis Enrique, and our players, who defend the institution daily both on and off the field.”
“Much more to achieve”
Though PSG has achieved its best season yet, Al-Khelaifi is determined not to stop there. For him, the Champions League victory against Inter Milan on May 3rd should spark a new drive to reach even greater heights and establish PSG as a leading club.
“Our project isn’t just about winning today or tomorrow; it’s meant to be enduring. We’re building something solid, lasting. There’s still so much to achieve. As the song goes, ‘after so many years of struggles and battles’, we’ll continue to work even harder every day. With humility, always driven by a collective spirit where the superstar is the team, true to the values of sport, proud to wear PSG’s colors and represent France. Thank you for your support throughout this extraordinary season. Onward to new victories. Here’s to Paris.”
