PSG’s Transfer Strategy: Focus on Sales, Not New Signings
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has made notable moves in the transfer market, bringing in four new players this season. However, the club’s head coach, Luis Enrique, has indicated that no further signings will be made unless there is a significant departure from the team. Milan Skriniar, who has been tagged as surplus to requirements by Enrique, is reportedly facing interest from clubs in Italy.
The transfer window in France is set to close this Friday at 11 PM. PSG is not expected to make any extravagant purchases as the window closes. While attackers Victor Osimhen and Jadon Sancho have been mentioned as potential targets, they are unlikely to join the French champions, according to L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi. Luis Enrique has made it clear that he does not want any additional recruits unless there is a player exit.
Hot Transfer Talks Surrounding Osimhen
“Osimhen is one of the hottest topics today. Al Ahli is eager to recruit him, but Chelsea is also making a strong push. In my opinion, he could end up in London today. A delegation from Chelsea is currently in Naples to negotiate directly with the player, and reaching an agreement with Napoli shouldn’t be a problem. Regarding Sancho, there is a deal in place between Juventus and Manchester United, but it has not yet been settled with the player himself. Chelsea is still in the mix. If Sancho doesn’t move to Juventus, the Turin club has started negotiations with Amine Adli from Leverkusen. As for PSG? Officials have been privately expressing their satisfaction with the current squad. During the last club meeting on this subject, Luis Enrique asked that no further signings be made unless Skriniar departs,” explained Loïc Tanzi. The trend for Skriniar clearly points towards a departure, but time is running short.
PSG Focused on Offloading Players
As the transfer deadline approaches, PSG’s primary focus will be on offloading players. The club aims to part ways with several individuals, including Skriniar, Danilo, Soler, and Bernat, according to Loïc Tanzi. “Will PSG be active today in terms of arrivals? Unless Skriniar leaves, then Paris might pursue Araujo from Benfica, but the club is expected to remain quite calm. The emphasis will be on watching for departures. Bernat is set to sign with Villarreal, and Soler is heading to West Ham… The club is also negotiating a loan for Danilo. The latest updates suggest potential moves for the Portuguese player to either Barcelona or Porto, but nothing is confirmed yet. It appears it would be a simple loan for the versatile Parisian,” he noted.
