PSG’s Transfer Dilemma: Key Areas for Last-Minute Reinforcements
This summer, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) made significant moves in the transfer market, acquiring four new players for a staggering total of €170 million. With the transfer window closing on Friday at 11 PM, the club from the capital may still have surprises in store, especially as several players are on the verge of leaving. The pressing question remains: which positions should PSG prioritize for reinforcement before the transfer market closes?
Is a striker on the horizon?
All summer long, the future of Kylian Mbappé has been a hot topic, particularly after his move to Real Madrid. However, despite the speculation, the club has not brought in any new strikers. This concern has intensified with the injury of Gonçalo Ramos, who will be out for three months. Despite ongoing rumors linking PSG to Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, it’s likely the capital club will not pursue any new talent in this area.
Departures that need addressing?

On the other hand, certain positions are in dire need of bolstering, particularly in defense. This is crucial as the club is expected to see the most departures in this area by Friday. Nordi Mukiele is set for a loan to Bayer Leverkusen, while Milan Skriniar is also rumored to be leaving. Consequently, PSG may look to recruit a right center-back to fill the gap. In this regard, the club is reportedly keeping an eye on Tomas Araujo from Benfica. Additionally, the possibility of signing a left-back to serve as a backup to Nuno Mendes is also being explored.
