PSG’s Summer Transfer Strategy: Trusting Kolo Muani Up Front
During this summer, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) opted for a relatively quiet transfer window, making the significant choice not to recruit a new center forward, even in light of Gonçalo Ramos’s injury. The Parisian club, along with manager Luis Enrique, has placed its trust in Randal Kolo Muani, with the Spanish coach expressing satisfaction with the performance of the number 23 player.
The PSG strategy: no new forwards this summer
As revealed exclusively on July 21 by sports media, the duo of Luis Enrique and Luis Campos decided to rely on Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani for the center forward position. However, after the Portuguese player sustained a three-month injury during the season opener in August, the French recruit, acquired for €90 million, has yet to make a significant impression on the wider audience.
Luis Enrique praises versatile attackers
In contrast, Luis Enrique, the coach of PSG, once again extolled the virtues of the number 23 following the draw against Reims this past Saturday night. He stated: “He is a player who can play in multiple positions; I really appreciate attackers who possess that ability. He played on the right, which allowed us to gain more depth. This was something we were looking for at one point, but with the opposing goal, we had a bit less space. So, he was repositioned to the number 9 role.” This highlights the manager’s confidence in Kolo Muani’s adaptability and potential to contribute to the team’s attacking strategy.
