PSG’s Strong Lineup Revealed for the Crucial Clash Against Marseille
OM vs PSG: Parisian squad ready for intense clash in Ligue 1
Marseille, France – September 2023 – The much-anticipated showdown between Olympique de Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain is set to take place this Sunday as part of the Ligue 1’s fifth matchday. Scheduled for a 20:45 kickoff, the encounter promises excitement with PSG’s expected lineup.
Luis Enrique’s strategic approach
While the early season has seen PSG’s head coach, Luis Enrique, experimenting with his lineup, certain matches, including this classic rivalry against Marseille, have been marked as crucial encounters. Despite a somewhat shaky start, both in terms of results and gameplay, the reigning champions are aiming to make a strong statement.
Key lineup decisions
The absence of Achraf Hakimi due to an injury sustained in Brest will be notable, paving the way for Warren Zaïre-Emery to fill the right-back position. The central defense is expected to feature the duo of Marquinhos and Pacho, with Nuno Mendes taking the left defensive side.
In the midfield, the much-celebrated trio of Joao Neves, Vitinha, and Fabian Ruiz is predicted to anchor the team. The attacking lineup is competitive, with four players vying for three starting spots. Ferran Torres, currently in impressive form, is likely to edge out Désiré Doué in joining Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia upfront.
Projected PSG lineup:
- Goalkeeper: Safonov
- Defenders: Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes
- Midfielders: Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz
- Forwards: Dembélé, Torres, Kvaratskhelia
As the teams prepare to clash at the Vélodrome, fans are eagerly anticipating a thrilling contest, with PSG determined to showcase their strength and secure an important victory in their campaign.
