PSG’s New Signing Désiré Doué: A Rising Star After Mbappé’s Exit
Following Kylian Mbappé’s transfer to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has made some intriguing moves in the transfer market. Among these is the acquisition of 19-year-old talent Désiré Doué, who may find himself in the starting lineup this Saturday night against Brest. As time goes on, Doué could emerge as a key player to support Warren Zaïre-Emery in the midfield.
PSG has been quite active in the transfer market after losing their star player Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid. One of their notable signings is the young French international Désiré Doué, who was also on the radar of Bayern Munich. The capital club secured his services for a fee of €50 million, marking a significant addition to their roster.
Luis Enrique looks to harness Désiré Doué’s versatility
So far, Désiré Doué has had limited playing time, primarily due to fierce competition within the squad. Up to this point, he has been utilized mainly in attacking roles. However, head coach Luis Enrique aims to leverage Doué’s versatility throughout the season. He could be deployed in midfield, particularly as a potential replacement for Warren Zaïre-Emery.
“He needs to take some aspects from Zaïre-Emery”
In a recent interview with L’Equipe, Mathieu Le Scornet, the reserve team coach of Strasbourg, who has closely worked with Doué during his time at Rennes, stated: “Today, he is most dangerous on the left. He is a player who thrives under pressure and prefers to act quickly. He has a different profile. If Barcola is also playing on the left, it’s ideal, as when he moves into the center, Doué can advance to the left. Over time, he will need to adopt some of Zaïre-Emery’s box-to-box attributes.” The report also indicates that Doué may indeed step in for Zaïre-Emery this Saturday against Brest. Stay tuned for updates.
