PSG’s Luis Enrique Welcomes Back Skriniar and Danilo Pereira

As the summer transfer window closed, the future of two players at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) became a topic of speculation. Danilo Pereira and Milan Skriniar, who were pushed towards the exit by the club’s management, have now been welcomed back into the fold after failing to secure moves elsewhere. This shift comes as a surprise, especially with the season already underway.

Skriniar and Danilo remain with PSG

This summer, PSG aimed to streamline its roster by offloading several players deemed surplus to requirements. While the club successfully transferred Carlos Soler, Juan Bernat, and Nordi Mukiele, the same fate did not befall Skriniar and Pereira. Despite interest, particularly from teams in Saudi Arabia, both defenders were unable to finalize any deals and thus will continue their journey with PSG.

“I count on them. They are part of the squad”

During a press conference on Saturday, coach Luis Enrique expressed his support for the players, stating, “I count on all the players at PSG who are under contract. I have my preferences from a sporting perspective. Milan and Danilo helped us a lot last season. Now that the transfer window has closed, I count on them. They are part of the squad.” This statement marks a notable volte-face, given that both players were initially excluded from the first team at the start of the season. Their return adds depth to the squad as they look to contribute once more.
