PSG Wins Champions League, Yet Opta Ranks Liverpool and Arsenal Above Them

The Paris Saint-Germain has clinched the Champions League title, solidifying its position as the premier European club at present.

While Luis Enrique’s squad has dominated across Europe in the Champions League, Opta’s AI rankings place them just third among the top European clubs. Liverpool and Arsenal claim the top two spots, even though PSG eliminated both teams earlier this season. The ranking likely reflects the competitiveness of the Premier League as a significant factor.

Despite a challenging season, Manchester City ranks fourth, ahead of notable clubs like Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and the Champions League finalists, Inter Milan. Meanwhile, Real Madrid finds itself in eighth place. Among the top 13 teams, eight belong to the Premier League, including Crystal Palace and Brighton. In Ligue 1, the second-best French team, Lille, is positioned at 35th, surpassing Marseille, which is currently at 44th, behind teams like Monaco and Lyon.
