PSG Training Center Faces Crisis Amid Success: Tensions and Departures Rise

Despite positive results, the Paris Saint-Germain training center is facing significant turmoil. With disagreements, work stoppages, and departures, tensions are escalating at the Poissy Campus.

On the sporting front, Paris Saint-Germain is thriving. However, the success of both the senior team and the youth players is overshadowed by a brewing crisis at the Poissy training ground. An investigation by L’Equipe reveals numerous internal tensions within the PSG academy, where the atmosphere is reportedly far from pleasant.

Reports indicate that Bafodé Diakhaby, head of pre-training, has struggled with the events of last season to the extent that he has been on sick leave for several weeks. His relationship with Yohan Cabaye, the head of the training center, has also reportedly soured, according to the sports daily.

A significant departure

The former PSG and LOSC midfielder is also said to have had conflicts with Pierre Reynaud, the recruitment officer who is a key figure within the academy, and is currently on sick leave as well. Reynaud, though not widely recognized, has been instrumental in recruiting several French internationals, including Kingsley Coman, Adrien Rabiot, Christopher Nkunku, and Mike Maignan. Prior to his leave, a long-time club scout reportedly decided to leave the organization.

Cabaye seems no longer aligned with their methods,” reveals an internal source to L’Equipe. There are also complaints about ‘preferential treatment’ granted to an associate of Yohan Cabaye. Additionally, some coaches are expressing confusion over the lack of personnel to support the youth training.
