PSG Thrives Post-Mbappé: Al-Khelaïfi Highlights Team Success
Time has passed since Kylian Mbappé’s departure, yet his presence still looms large over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This sentiment was echoed by Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, who recently addressed inquiries regarding his team, which is currently navigating life without the French superstar who has joined Real Madrid.
The new-look PSG has made a strong impression since the season kicked off. Despite initial concerns following Mbappé’s exit, the team is performing remarkably well. Rising star Bradley Barcola has emerged as a key player, contributing to an impressive record of three consecutive victories and a total of 13 goals scored as they head into the Champions League.
“Mbappé’s departure? The club remains the priority”
This positive momentum does not completely erase the shadow of Mbappé, as PSG’s president was once again pressed on the issue during a recent padel match. “The departure of Mbappé? The most important thing is the club, and we are talking about a club like PSG!” asserted Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, in a statement shared by Mediaset.
“All the goals in the Nations League came from our boys”
Al-Khelaïfi continued, emphasizing the strength of his current squad. “We have many strong players this season, and you just need to look at all the goals scored by France,” he remarked, subtly referencing Kylian Mbappé. “In the two Nations League matches, all the goals were scored by our guys: Barcola, Dembelé, and Kolo Muani. We are proud to have them on the team.”
