PSG Targets Young Portuguese Talents for Summer Transfer Market
Paris Saint-Germain is likely to remain inactive during the upcoming winter transfer window, except in cases of departures or injuries. However, the club is preparing for a busy summer transfer market, focusing on several talented young players from Portugal.
Luis Campos, the club’s strategic advisor, is leveraging his connections within the Portuguese league to scout potential signings. According to reports from major French outlets, PSG has set its sights on Anisio Cabral, one of the standout players from the U17 World Cup. The young striker from Benfica finished as the tournament’s second top scorer, netting seven goals, including the decisive goal in the final against Austria.
In addition to Cabral, PSG is also considering two other promising talents: the diminutive midfielder Rafael Quinta (standing at 1.73m), who also plays for Benfica, and right-back Alberto Costa from FC Porto. At just 22 years old, Costa has already played 23 matches for Porto this season, contributing six assists.
Young Portuguese Talents: Luis Campos’s Strategy
Since his first summer as PSG’s strategic market advisor, Luis Campos has focused on acquiring talent from the Portuguese league. Notable signings from his initial tenure include Vitinha from FC Porto and Nuno Mendes from Sporting CP. In the summer of 2023, Campos added Gonçalo Ramos from Benfica and Manuel Ugarte from Sporting to his roster, followed by the recruitment of João Neves, who has emerged as one of PSG’s biggest revelations in recent years.
