PSG Targets Young Defender Tomas Araujo as Skriniar and Pereira Prepare to Leave

Consequently, the club is actively seeking a new central defender, with 22-year-old Tomas Araujo from SL Benfica emerging as a potential target.

Following a disappointing season, both central defenders have fallen out of favor with Luis Enrique, who did not include them in the squad for the recent 6-0 victory against Montpellier. On Monday, renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Milan Skriniar is nearing a transfer to Al-Nassr. Romano also indicated that should the Slovakian leave, PSG will be on the lookout for a young central defender to bolster their lineup.

According to recent updates from l’Equipe, PSG has been evaluating various young central defenders over the past few days. The club has specifically engaged with Benfica regarding a potential transfer for Tomas Araujo. The 22-year-old has caught the attention of the Parisian club, as well as Crystal Palace, who previously had a €20 million offer for the Portuguese defender turned down.
