Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) recently shared a captivating video on its social media platforms, featuring some of its star players receiving personalized jerseys from the iconic Los Angeles Lakers. These jerseys, tailored with each player’s PSG number and name, symbolize the fusion of two major sports franchises.

Ousmane Dembélé receives a special jersey from the Lakers.
Among the players featured, Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia proudly donned a jersey with the number 7, while French winger Ousmane Dembélé sported number 10. Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz showed off the number 8, Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov received number 39, and South Korean forward Lee Kang-in wore number 19. The jerseys were designed in the Lakers’ iconic purple and gold colors.
PSG’s strategic move to expand its global brand
This exchange of jerseys marks a significant step in PSG’s ambitious strategy to establish itself as a global lifestyle brand. Under the leadership of Qatar Sports Investments, PSG has actively collaborated with fashion brands, artists, and sports franchises beyond football. This collaboration with the Lakers bolsters PSG’s marketing presence in North America, a key market for the club’s international expansion.
Looking ahead, after a surprising 1-0 loss to Botafogo, PSG is set to face the Seattle Sounders in a crucial Club World Cup 2025 group stage match on June 23. Both teams are vying for a spot in the next round.
