PSG Shifts Focus to Young French Talents in New Recruitment Strategy
In a significant shift from their previous approach, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is now focusing on nurturing young talent, particularly from France. This strategy was highlighted this summer with the acquisition of Désiré Doué, a promising midfielder previously at Stade Rennais. PSG’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, shared his enthusiasm regarding this new direction for the club.
PSG’s Commitment to Young Talent
The signing of Désiré Doué underscores PSG’s revamped recruitment strategy. Once known for bringing in international superstars, the club is now prioritizing the development of young talents, especially French players. Last summer, PSG also made headlines with the addition of Bradley Barcola, who has quickly become a key player under the management of Luis Enrique. This summer, the club also welcomed João Neves, one of the world’s most promising young midfielders.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi Supports the Club’s Transformation
In an interview with Marca, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi elaborated on the club’s transformative strategy. He expressed pride in the ongoing evolution of PSG, emphasizing the importance of youth and collective talent. “Last year, I was very proud of our fantastic transformation at Paris Saint-Germain, focusing on youth, talent, and, above all, the team as a whole. This is the foundation of our next phase of development, not to mention our off-field efforts with our new training center in Poissy and the arrival of a major American investor (Arctos) into our club.”
