PSG Seeks Contract Extension for Rising Star Senny Mayulu Amid Winter Transfer Window

As the winter transfer window approaches, Paris Saint-Germain is keen on extending the contract of one of its promising talents. A midfielder has been making waves in recent weeks.

Displaying impressive mobility, excellent positioning, and the ability to create advantageous situations—whether by retrieving the ball or making incisive runs—Senny Mayulu has captured the attention of manager Luis Enrique. The young talent has seized the opportunity presented by the injury crisis affecting the squad, securing his place in the professional team.

Versatile, intelligent, and receptive, Mayulu possesses a wealth of attributes. To further his development and open up more opportunities, PSG opted not to sign another midfielder during the summer transfer window. Remarkably, he signed his first professional contract on May 20, 2024.

According to reports from L’Equipe, discussions to extend his contract are already underway. Just weeks prior to his signing, Luis Enrique and sporting advisor Luis Campos had already identified him as a player with “great potential.” Among the academy’s youngsters, only three were deemed capable of permanently integrating into the professional squad: Yoram Zague (currently on loan in Copenhagen), Ibrahim Mbaye, and Mayulu himself. He was even considered a possible backup for Warren Zaïre-Emery at that time.

Since then, Mayulu has made significant strides, capitalizing on each repositioning—be it in midfield, as a central attacker, or on the right flank—to enhance his learning experience. His standout performances, particularly in Barcelona where he scored the opening goal for Paris, have made a lasting impression. Currently, he has secured three consecutive starting positions, elevating his status above other players like Kang-in Lee and Gonçalo Ramos.

“Being a starter at PSG, especially in this team, is challenging. However, he is crucial for the club’s future and can become a key player here,” Luis Enrique shared in mid-May. Negotiations for an extension are reportedly progressing well, with his contract set to run until June 2027. His entourage appears optimistic about a promising future at Parc des Princes.
