PSG Secures Major Signing: Illya Zabarnyi Set to Join from Bournemouth
Paris Saint-Germain is finally making waves in the summer transfer market. After weeks of relative quiet, the French capital’s club is on the verge of sealing its first significant acquisition of the season.
Transfer nearing completion
According to insider reports, the transfer deal for Ukrainian defender Illya Zabarnyi is imminent. Discussions between the involved clubs have almost reached a conclusion concerning the transfer fee, which is expected to hover around €65 million, with potential bonuses pushing it to €70 million.
Renowned for his robust defensive skills and ability to initiate plays from the back, Zabarnyi has expressed his intent to move to Paris, dismissing offers from several Premier League clubs. This strategic addition is expected to bolster PSG’s already strong defensive lineup.
Official announcement expected soon
The official confirmation of Zabarnyi’s transfer to PSG is anticipated this week. The 22-year-old defender will be leaving English side Bournemouth and stepping into a new chapter in the French capital.
Zabarnyi will add depth to PSG’s defense, providing competition for Brazilian captain Marquinhos, who is unlikely to feature in every match of the season. His arrival is expected to mirror the success of Willian Pacho, who joined PSG last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt.
As PSG completes this high-profile signing, fans are eager to see how Zabarnyi will integrate into the squad and contribute to the team’s ambitions in the upcoming season.
