PSG Returns to Training with Eight Players Missing Ahead of Busy January Schedule
Paris Saint-Germain resumes training for the start of the 2026 season, but eight players are absent for various reasons.
Significant absences have been confirmed as Paris Saint-Germain kicked off their collective training at Camp des Loges. Currently, eight players are missing from the roster. Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye are participating in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), meaning their return will depend on their national teams’ progression, whether through elimination or a potential championship win.
Additionally, three players are sidelined due to injuries: Kang-in Lee, Matvey Safonov, and Quentin Ndjantou. Notably, David Boly’s absence has raised eyebrows, along with the missing young talents Mathis Jangeal and Noham Kamara. As a result, fans may need to brace for a diminished squad as the team prepares for the upcoming challenges.
A particularly busy schedule in January
The month of January will present a challenging agenda for PSG, with four different competitions on the horizon. The Capital club will first return to Ligue 1 action, followed by a matchup against OM in Kuwait for the Trophée des Champions. The Coupe de France is also on the calendar, along with two UEFA Champions League fixtures lined up shortly thereafter. With eight key players potentially unavailable, PSG faces a demanding schedule consisting of eight high-intensity matches ahead.
