PSG Rejects Arsenal’s Loan Interest in Kang-in Lee Amid High Valuation
Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly aware of Arsenal’s interest in one of its forwards. Initial discussions hinted at a loan, but PSG management swiftly dismissed this notion.
According to The Athletic UK, PSG and Arsenal have discussed the potential transfer of Kang-in Lee. The English outlet reveals that the Gunners have shown concrete interest in a loan deal with an option to buy. However, the South Korean international is not for sale unless an irresistible offer comes in. Coach Luis Enrique is counting on Lee and appreciates his versatility, a sentiment echoed by Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta.
For the time being, the Spanish coach has blocked any departures. PSG values Lee at €44 million, which is deemed too high for Arsenal. Lee is expected to remain in Paris for at least another six months, with his situation to be reassessed in the summer.
Kang-in Lee’s limited impact
Lee has been deployed as a winger, false nine, and playmaker, with varying degrees of success. While the South Korean has occasionally made a difference, his impact in crucial matches has been lacking. The former Mallorca player has scored six goals and provided two assists in Ligue 1.
In the Champions League, Lee has yet to contribute to a goal this season despite playing over 300 minutes. The left-footed player, who is nearing 24 years old, has a contract with PSG that runs until June 2028.
