Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been drawn into a competitive group for the Club World Cup, scheduled to take place from June 15 to July 13, 2025, in the United States. The French football giants are set to face Atletico Madrid, Botafogo, and Seattle Sounders, promising a series of demanding matches.
Blaise Matuidi, a revered figure at PSG, shared his thoughts on the club’s prospects during a recent interview. Expressing optimism, Matuidi believes that the team possesses the necessary skills to excel in the tournament. "It’s a tough group with Atletico Madrid, Botafogo—fresh off their Copa Libertadores win—and Seattle, the 2022 CONCACAF champions. However, the team is equipped to perform well and aims to qualify," he remarked.

PSG’s manager, Luis Enrique, had anticipated the challenging draw. During a press conference on Thursday, Enrique confidently predicted a matchup against Botafogo, highlighting his strategic insight. "Tell me the best Brazilian club in the Club World Cup? Botafogo? Then we will be in the same group. PSG-Botafogo, that’s a certainty," he asserted to the press, just hours before the official announcement.
