PSG Prepares for Clash Against Rennes Despite Key Injuries This Saturday Night
Despite several key absences, Luis Enrique is set to field a competitive team this Saturday evening as Paris Saint-Germain takes on Stade Rennais at Parc des Princes (9:05 PM).
Paris Saint-Germain will host Stade Rennais this Saturday night at Parc des Princes, following a week that has provided the squad with much-needed rest ahead of their upcoming Champions League clash in Bilbao on Wednesday. Despite this brief respite, the injury list remains substantial, with five players expected to be sidelined, including Lucas Chevalier and Nuno Mendes, who were briefly anticipated to participate in this Ligue 1 fixture.
In light of these challenges, Luis Enrique is likely to deploy a lineup closely resembling his current preferred formation. Matvey Safonov, who typically serves as the backup goalkeeper, is expected to start. Defensive options are limited, with Zaïre-Emery and Hernandez likely to occupy the flanks, while the central pairing of Marquinhos and Pacho is anticipated to continue in the absence of Beraldo. Illia Zabarnyi is also unavailable due to illness, while Noham Kamara has received a call-up from Enrique.
In midfield, João Neves, Vitinha, and Fabian Ruiz are set to start, with no major rotations expected given the stakes and Rennes’ current strength. Up front, Barcola is likely to regain a starting position, Kvaratskhelia will maintain his place on the left wing, and notably, Ousmane Dembélé is ready to return to the first team after a week of full training, facing his former club.
Expected PSG lineup against Stade Rennais
Starting XI: Safonov – Zaïre-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Hernandez – Vitinha, Neves, Ruiz – Barcola or Lee, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.
