PSG Faces Injury Woes as Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, and Doué Rule Out
This Saturday afternoon, the French Football Federation (FFF) delivered disappointing news to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) fans. Warren Zaïre-Emery, a rising star in French football, has been ruled out of the upcoming match against Belgium due to a left calf injury. In addition to Zaïre-Emery, PSG has also lost Vitinha and Désiré Doué to injuries while on international duty, posing significant challenges for coach Luis Enrique.
Warren Zaïre-Emery sidelined
The FFF confirmed this afternoon that Warren Zaïre-Emery would not participate in the second group stage match of the Nations League. According to their official announcement, “The Paris SG midfielder is suffering from a left calf injury. Warren Zaïre-Emery will not take part in the match against Belgium on Monday, September 9, in Lyon-Decines. He sustained this injury while coming on as a substitute in the match against Italy on Friday, September 6, at Parc des Princes. After undergoing medical imaging, the injury was confirmed, and following a consultation with Dr. Franck Le Gall, Didier Deschamps accepted Warren Zaïre-Emery’s withdrawal.”
Vitinha and Doué also miss out
Alongside Warren Zaïre-Emery, PSG faces further setbacks with the loss of two additional players: Vitinha and Désiré Doué. The Portuguese Football Federation announced that Vitinha will miss the upcoming match against Scotland, stating: “Vitinha has been declared unfit for the next national team match by the Health and Performance Unit of the FPF. He has been released from the squad due to an injury sustained before the end of the game against Croatia, which led to his departure from the group on Friday morning.” Meanwhile, Désiré Doué also exited his match early due to injury. Before leaving the field, the summer recruit had helped the French U21 team equalize against Slovenia.
