PSG Faces Challenges with Danilo Pereira and Milan Skriniar
The summer transfer window has officially closed in France, leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with some lingering questions regarding the future of certain players. Notably, Danilo Pereira and Milan Skriniar remain on the roster, but the situation may still evolve, as other markets are still open, providing potential avenues for PSG to offload these players at the last minute.
During a press conference on Saturday, PSG’s head coach, Luis Enrique, addressed the status of Danilo Pereira and Milan Skriniar, both of whom had been put on the transfer list without securing new clubs. Enrique stated, “I rely on all the players at PSG under contract. While I have my preferences on the pitch, Milan and Danilo were crucial for us last season. The transfer window is closed, and I count on all players; they remain part of the squad.” This comment suggests that both players could be reintegrated into the first team, although alternative options remain on the table.
Potential Moves for Danilo
According to Le Parisien, the futures of both players are still in flux, starting with Danilo Pereira (32 years old), who has only one year left on his contract with PSG. The club is reportedly seeking a direct transfer fee of around €10 million. There are still possibilities for him to find a new home in either Turkey or Portugal, where the transfer window remains open. Throughout the summer, Danilo attracted interest from several foreign clubs, including Barcelona, Al-Ittihad, and Atlético de Madrid, but none were able to finalize a deal.
Similar Situation for Skriniar
Milan Skriniar (29 years old, contracted until 2028) finds himself in a comparable predicament. Le Parisien indicates that Turkey and Saudi Arabia could be feasible destinations for the Slovak central defender, who joined PSG on a free transfer last year. However, Skriniar’s substantial salary limits the options more than they do for Danilo Pereira. Still, there are avenues to explore that could lead to a departure in the coming days, which would be a welcome relief for PSG’s finances.
