PSG Eyes Young Talent Gilberto Mora Amidst Rising Transfer Interest and Value
Continuing its strategy of investing in youth, Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly eyeing Gilberto Mora. Following the acquisition of Dro Fernandez from Barcelona, PSG’s management sees Mora as a player with immense potential, although the price tag for his transfer is expected to be significant.
“I will sell him for a high price,” stated Rafaela Pimenta, Mora’s agent, clearly signaling her intentions. With clubs such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and PSG tracking the young Mexican talent, they recognize the 17-year-old’s potential. Pimenta, a former lawyer, is determined to ensure that European teams pay a premium for Mora, questioning the disparity in player valuations: “If he is sold for a high price, he will be respected. Why should a player in Brazil be worth 80 million but only 8 million if he’s in Mexico? Is the Brazilian league that much superior to the Mexican league? No,” she argues.
Mora’s World Cup Test Awaits
Pimenta expressed frustration over the treatment of Mexican players by Europeans, stating, “Europeans want to convince Mexicans that they can’t be valued as highly.” Currently, Mora has only five caps for Mexico and is not a regular starter. His position at his club, Tijuana, has also been inconsistent, leading to questions about his role. To better evaluate his abilities, all eyes will be on the upcoming 2026 World Cup, which Mora will participate in on home soil.
