Premier League Clubs Sign Ugarte and Soler from PSG on Deadline Day
On the final day of the summer transfer window, Premier League clubs turned their attention to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for some significant signings. As anticipated, Manuel Ugarte was transferred to Manchester United, while Carlos Soler made the move to West Ham on loan. Both players will be experiencing English football, and there is considerable excitement surrounding these acquisitions from PSG.
PSG was particularly active in offloading players on the last day of the transfer market. Following the loan of Juan Bernat to Villarreal, the Parisian club focused on England to meet its need for squad reduction. Consequently, Manuel Ugarte was sold to Manchester United for €50 million plus an additional €10 million in bonuses. Meanwhile, Carlos Soler was also confirmed to join West Ham, albeit on a loan basis.
Manchester United thrilled with Ugarte
Both West Ham and Manchester United are pleased with their dealings with PSG this summer. Dan Ashworth, the sporting director of the Red Devils, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Manuel Ugarte’s arrival: “Signing Manuel was one of our top targets for this summer. He is one of the best in the world at winning the ball back and has an impressive record both at club level and internationally. His qualities, experience, and passion will be great additions to our strong midfield. We have been closely monitoring Manuel and are excited to see the positive impact he will have on the pitch and in the dressing room.”
West Ham delighted with Soler
On the other hand, Tim Steidten, the technical director of West Ham, shared his thoughts after securing Carlos Soler: “We are thrilled to welcome Carlos to West Ham. We have admired him for some time, and although we had to wait until the last day of the transfer window to secure his services, we are very pleased to have him with us for the remainder of the season. He is a highly talented player who will undoubtedly add quality to our midfield. His ball skills are beyond question, and we are excited to see him in a West Ham jersey. Carlos is our ninth signing of the summer, and we are grateful to the management for their support during the transfer window.”
