Paris Saint-Germain Dominates Early Season with Record-Setting Performances

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has kicked off the new season with a bang, winning their first two Ligue 1 matches. Under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, the team has set an impressive record.

On Friday, August 23, PSG fans bid farewell to Gianluigi Donnarumma as the club made a surprising move in the transfer market by signing Lucas Chevalier as his replacement. It’s still too early to assess the young Frenchman’s performance in the Parisian jersey.

While the former Lille goalkeeper had a minor blunder in the UEFA Super Cup, he has yet to be tested in Ligue 1, where PSG recorded victories against Nantes (0-1) and Angers (1-0) without facing a single shot on target. This achievement marks a first in Ligue 1 history, according to Opta, which has been analyzing the league since 2006.

A Commanding Performance from PSG

PSG’s remarkable start reflects their control over the matches. Although not particularly flashy, the team has dominated their opponents, showing no signs of vulnerability against either Nantes or Angers. Over the course of 180 minutes, PSG maintained approximately 75% possession of the ball.

However, the Parisians faced challenges in finishing, particularly evident when Ousmane Dembélé missed a penalty against Angers.
