Mourinho Secures PSG Duo Skriniar and Asensio for Fenerbahçe Move
Istanbul, July 2025 – Fenerbahçe has successfully negotiated a deal to acquire Milan Skriniar and Marco Asensio from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). This move, pursued since summer, strengthens the Turkish club with two high-caliber players.
Fenerbahçe strikes a double deal with PSG
According to A Spor reports, the agreement between Fenerbahçe and PSG involves a total transfer fee of 20 million euros (approximately 17 million pounds or 23 million dollars). The deal signifies a significant acquisition for Fenerbahçe, with Mourinho playing a pivotal role in securing the Slovakian defender Skriniar on a permanent basis. The transaction amount will be disbursed in installments.
Skriniar’s impact at Fenerbahçe
Skriniar, aged 30, has already established himself as a key player in Fenerbahçe’s lineup. Having spent half of the previous season in Istanbul, he contributed significantly with three goals and an assist in 16 appearances under Mourinho’s guidance. His performance has made him a sought-after player among other Turkish clubs.
Asensio’s journey to Fenerbahçe
Asensio, a target for clubs in Spain and Italy such as AC Milan, Inter, and Villarreal, found Fenerbahçe’s offer most appealing. The Turkish club proposed an annual salary of 9 million euros, coming close to his 14 million euro earnings at PSG. Currently on vacation, the former Real Madrid star is expected to finalize his move to Fenerbahçe soon.
Upcoming challenges and new targets
Fenerbahçe’s ambitions extend beyond Skriniar and Asensio. The club is reportedly eyeing Bayern Munich’s winger, Kingsley Coman. Mourinho has approved the pursuit, and Bayern appears open to a loan arrangement with an option to buy.
Building a championship-winning squad
Fenerbahçe is determined to end its 11-year trophy drought. Mourinho’s team is also leading the race to sign midfielder Granit Xhaka, who plans to leave Bayer Leverkusen during this transfer window.
Pre-season preparations in Portugal
Fenerbahçe will continue its pre-season training in Portugal, with a match scheduled against Portuguese club Leiria on July 21. Supporters eagerly await the integration of their new signings into the squad.
