Mbappé’s Legal Battle for €55M: PSG Dispute Escalates
In a surprising turn of events, Kylian Mbappé, who recently made headlines by transferring from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to Real Madrid, has initiated a legal battle against his former club. The French superstar is demanding a staggering €55 million, which he claims represents unpaid wages from his last three months at PSG. Former international Denis Charvet has not held back in his criticism of Mbappé’s conduct during this protracted dispute, arguing that the situation could drag on indefinitely.
Despite his high-profile move to Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé is entangled in a legal issue with PSG that has shifted from the pitch to the courtroom. The crux of the matter lies in the €55 million the French forward is seeking from his previous club. This amount encompasses the final third of his signing bonus (amounting to €36 million gross), his salaries from April to June, and an ethics bonus. Recently, the legal commission of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) ruled in favor of the player. However, PSG remains obstinate, unwilling to pay the claimed sum. This ongoing dispute is increasingly frustrating former international Denis Charvet, who is dissatisfied with the off-field nature of the conflict and believes that Kylian Mbappé has failed to honor his commitments.
The Alleged Oral Agreement
Charvet remarked, “He claims he signed a contract and that he is owed money. That’s not how it works. There was an oral agreement. They had an understanding. If he came back after being excluded from the group, it was because there was an oral agreement,” he explained during a recent broadcast on RMC.
Questioning Values and Integrity
“Mbappé lacks integrity; his reputation is undoubtedly tarnished. This isn’t just about his sporting reputation; it’s about his mindset. It’s a question of values, and he seems to lack them. The value here is ‘I take the money and leave for Real.’ Why did he stay at PSG for two more years when he was supposed to move to Real Madrid? He stayed for an additional €300 million!,” Charvet added.
