Luis Enrique Prepares PSG for Challenging Match Against LOSC, Discusses Cup Goals
During a press conference held on Friday afternoon, Luis Enrique addressed journalists ahead of Saturday’s Ligue 1 clash against LOSC, set to kick off at 21:05 at Parc des Princes.
As is customary on the eve of a match, Luis Enrique took to the podium in a packed hall at the Poissy Campus. The Spanish coach, sporting a smile, noted the increased attendance of reporters present. He settled in to engage with the questions posed.
Enrique was notably asked about officiating in France. “I never speak about referees. Why? If I express how I feel, it could be complicated. I prefer to avoid that topic. I tell my players the same; they should not protest. Being a referee is incredibly challenging. We often think decisions go against us, but that’s not always the case.“
Resources, Resources, and More Resources
Throughout the session, Enrique praised LOSC, his upcoming opponent in Ligue 1, comparing certain aspects of their play to that of Liverpool. “I see similarities between Lille and Liverpool, especially defensively. It’s going to be a good match for us.” He added, “We need to equip the team with resources to handle moments when the opponent applies high pressure. We must always be prepared for any match situation. Often, teams change their approach when facing us, so we aim to have the resources to counter that.“
Discussion on the Coupe de France
When questioned about the upcoming Coupe de France draw, where PSG will face Dunkerque in early April, Enrique provided an insightful and thorough response. “We are in the semi-finals, but the goal is to reach the final. Dunkerque is at the top of Ligue 2 and plays like a Ligue 1 team. It will be a complex semi-final.“
