Luis Enrique Praises Vitinha as Key Player for PSG Ahead of Lille Clash
Paris, October 2025 – Portuguese midfielder Vitinha has been capturing attention as a standout player for Paris Saint-Germain over the past two seasons. His remarkable performances have solidified his position as a key figure in the team, thanks in part to the strategic guidance of coach Luis Enrique.
Enrique’s faith in Vitinha
Under Luis Enrique’s management, Vitinha has been repositioned as a number 6, a move that has greatly boosted his performance. His exceptional display in the recent Champions League match against FC Barcelona underscored his talent, securing him a third-place spot in the 2025 Ballon d’Or rankings.
In a pre-match press conference, Enrique praised Vitinha while also cautioning him. “I work with Vitinha just like I do with all players,” Enrique stated. “It’s normal to talk more about a player like him because, in my view, he’s one of the top two midfielders in the world. But my goal is to enhance every player’s abilities.”
Enrique added, “It’s beautiful to witness his level of play, and I believe he can improve even further. He’s crucial for us as a differential player. However, my job is also to help players who are not getting enough playtime to develop. I’m pleased with the positive progress of our squad.”
Set to start against Lille
Following their triumph over FC Barcelona, PSG gears up to face Lille OSC in a league clash this Sunday. Vitinha is expected to start, although he will miss the support of injured teammates Fabian Ruiz and Joao Neves. Warren Zaire-Emery and Kang-In Lee are anticipated to join him in the midfield against Lille.
