Lizarazu Unworried by PSG’s Slow Start, Trusts Luis Enrique’s Leadership
PSG’s rocky start does not worry Lizarazu
Paris, September 2026 – The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has stumbled at the beginning of the Ligue 1 season, managing only two points from their first three games. Despite the setback, including a recent 1-2 defeat to AS Monaco, former French international Bixente Lizarazu remains unconcerned about the situation.
A challenging opening for PSG
PSG’s current performance is far from the club’s usual high standards, sparking potential concerns among fans. However, Lizarazu, speaking on the popular sports show Téléfoot, emphasized that the team has the experience and capability to bounce back swiftly. He recalled similar struggles from the previous year, exacerbated by commitments like the Club World Cup, and noted the impact of the international duties due to the World Cup this season.
Lizarazu’s unwavering faith in Luis Enrique
Lizarazu places his trust in PSG’s head coach, Luis Enrique, to navigate through this rough patch. "I trust Luis Enrique," Lizarazu affirmed, expressing confidence in the team’s strategy to peak at the right moments. He stressed that with a long season ahead and a seven-point gap to close, PSG still has ample opportunity to recover their position in the league.
Looking ahead to the Champions League
The club’s next test comes this Wednesday in the Champions League against Slovan Bratislava. This match is seen as a potential turning point for PSG to regain momentum and demonstrate their resilience on the European stage. As the team prepares, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if PSG can leverage this opportunity to reignite their campaign.
