Ligue 1 Launches “We Will Never Sell These Hats” Campaign to Support Cancer Patients

This weekend marks the 21st round of Ligue 1, where the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) is set to kick off a heartfelt campaign titled “We Will Never Sell These Hats.” In collaboration with French clubs and the Rafaël Institute, this initiative aims to publicly support cancer patients.

National Solidarity Campaign Launched on World Cancer Day

In recognition of World Cancer Day, the LFP has announced a national solidarity campaign designed to assist supporters battling cancer. This effort, supported by all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs, focuses on distributing free oncology hats in the colors of professional teams.

Understanding the Initiative: “We Will Never Sell These Hats”

This initiative is unique as it represents the first entirely free merchandising product from the LFP, created not as a commercial item but as a supportive tool for patients undergoing treatment. These hats are intended for individuals dealing with the side effects of chemotherapy, particularly hair loss.

Designed for Comfort and Support

Made from recycled polyester, these hats are designed to meet specific medical requirements. Their soft and breathable material aims to minimize friction, enhance scalp comfort, and ensure daily usability. The hats’ elasticity allows for a better fit across various head shapes.

Partnering with the Rafaël Institute

This campaign is executed in partnership with the Rafaël Institute, which specializes in comprehensive support for cancer patients. Distribution of the hats will begin during the 21st matchday and continue throughout the season, with clubs directly delivering hats to partner hospitals.

“In our fight against cancer, alongside the Rafaël Institute, we aim to embed our actions within a supportive and sustainable framework to assist patients. This first national initiative is part of a collective effort, as all professional clubs have been committed to collaborating with hospitals and health organizations for many seasons,” stated Jérôme Belaygue, the communication director of the LFP.
