Kylian Mbappé Takes PSG to Court Over Unpaid €55M Salary Dispute
In a tense standoff with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) since his departure in June, Kylian Mbappé is escalating his dispute with the club. The star striker is pursuing legal action against the French capital’s team for unpaid wages from the last three months of his contract. He is owed a substantial €55 million, but sources indicate that the conflict may intensify further, with Mbappé reportedly prepared to take the matter to the labor court.
PSG facing financial obligations
The saga between Kylian Mbappé and PSG is far from over. The French international is awaiting the payment of €55 million, which represents his unpaid wages and outstanding ethical bonuses for the 2023-2024 season. “It doesn’t matter if his salary is €1,200 a month or €6 million; it’s still his salary. It’s a contractual obligation. No worker would forfeit their last three months of pay to their employer. None! It’s clear—and PSG knows it—that they will have to pay him for those last three months,” stated sports commentator Pierre Ménès on his YouTube channel.
Breaking promises and pursuing justice
Mbappé reportedly had an informal agreement with PSG prior to his exit, a promise he claims was not honored as the season concluded. “Mbappé doesn’t need this money, but if he has to go to the labor court, he will. If he needs to take action against PSG through the appropriate channels, he will do it. Those so-called oral promises outside of a contract only bind those foolish enough to believe them. We need to stop living in a fairy tale,” Ménès asserted.
