Khalil Ayari Set to Join Paris Saint-Germain’s U23 Squad After Impressive Trials
After securing the signings of Lucas Chevalier and Illia Zabarnyi, Paris Saint-Germain is continuing its transfer activities. This time, the focus shifts from the first team under Luis Enrique to the U23 squad managed by Jean-François Vulliez. Young Tunisian talent Khalil Ayari is set to join PSG shortly, having impressed Luis Campos during his three-match trial with the club’s U23 team.
Since establishing the U23 group last summer to facilitate the transition of youth players into professional football, Luis Campos remains active in the market to further strengthen this promising team. With several players moving up from the U19 category and other young talents from various clubs, the U23 squad has been under the guidance of Jean-François Vulliez, former assistant coach at Olympique Lyonnais for the 2023-2024 season.
Khalil Ayari, an attacking midfielder from Stade Tunisien, reportedly caught the attention of Campos after his trial with the U23 squad. According to sources, the Portuguese manager envisions integrating the left-footed Tunisian into the U23 team to help him acclimate to life in Paris, with the potential for promotion to the professional group in the future. Although nothing is finalized yet, the arrival of the 20-year-old Tunisian at PSG seems likely in the coming weeks.
Two other French clubs show interest
As reported by sources, Stade Rennais and OGC Nice are also in pursuit of Khalil Ayari. Additionally, Swiss clubs FC Bâle and Sion, along with a top Portuguese club, are reportedly interested in the young talent. While PSG stands out as the most prestigious option among these clubs, it remains uncertain where the young Tunisian will land.
