Joane Gadou Joins Red Bull Salzburg: PSG’s Record Youth Transfer
In a significant move for both player and club, 17-year-old Joane Gadou, a promising talent from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has signed a contract with Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg, extending until June 2027. This transfer marks Gadou as the most expensive youth player sold in PSG’s history, a noteworthy achievement for the young defender standing at 1.95 meters tall. Bernhard Seonbuchner, the sporting director of Red Bull Salzburg, expressed his excitement over this acquisition.
Gadou expresses enthusiasm
In his first comments since the transfer, Gadou shared his enthusiasm: “I am very happy to have signed with FC Red Bull Salzburg and I can’t wait to step onto the pitch. Salzburg is a great choice for me as it is a club that believes in young players and offers them the opportunity to progress quickly. I aspire to achieve that as well. I am a fan of Dayot Upamecano, who played here and is now an international for France; his style of play is somewhat familiar to me.”
High praise from Salzburg’s director
Bernhard Seonbuchner, the sporting director of Red Bull Salzburg, did not hold back in his praise for the new recruit. “Joane Gadou is a genuine top-level talent who had many options for his career but chose to join us and follow our Salzburg Way. We are truly delighted, as we are convinced of his quality. We will certainly have a lot of fun with him in the future, and we will provide all the time and support he needs to develop as best as possible with us.”
