Ilya Zabarnyi at Center of Transfer Battle: PSG, Chelsea, and Liverpool Interested
Following the departure of fellow center-back Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, Ilya Zabarnyi is set to be the next big transfer target. The Ukrainian defender is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and several Premier League clubs.
According to Ukrainian media outlet Tribuna, Ilya Zabarnyi may remain in the Premier League. Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly keen on the defender’s profile. The Blues have struggled with defensive stability and have been searching for the perfect partnership for quite some time. Meanwhile, for the Reds, the Ukrainian could provide competition for Ibrahima Konaté and help prepare for life after Virgil van Dijk.
PSG has already made an offer
Ilya Zabarnyi reportedly favors a move to PSG, eager to join the reigning European champions. The two parties are believed to have reached an agreement on the terms of the contract. However, the transfer may hit a snag with Bournemouth, the player’s current club.
According to RMC, PSG has made an initial offer to Bournemouth, amounting to €50 million. This bid has been deemed insufficient by the English club, which is reportedly holding out for at least €75 million to release the former Dynamo Kyiv player. Bournemouth is likely to leverage the interest from Liverpool and Chelsea to drive the price up. With Huijsen’s transfer and the potential departures of both Zabarnyi and Milos Kerkez, Bournemouth stands to make a significant profit this summer.
