France’s Coupe Draw: Major Ligue 1 Clashes Set for Round of 16 Matches
The Coupe de France draw has been made, setting the stage for two thrilling Ligue 1 clashes in the round of 16.
After a weekend filled with surprises, the remaining teams in the Coupe de France have learned their next opponents, with matches scheduled for January 10, 2026. The games will unfold over three days, from Friday to Sunday, with the exception of Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique de Marseille, whose encounters are slated for January 12 and 13 due to the Trophée des Champions.
Among these matchups are two significant Ligue 1 clashes. First, Bruno Génésio’s LOSC Lille will face Paulo Fonseca’s Olympique Lyonnais. Additionally, in the capital, fans can look forward to a second Parisian derby within just six days, as Paris FC takes on Paris Saint-Germain, after already facing each other in the Ligue 1 match on January 4, 2026.
Big Challenges for the Underdogs
Following their victory against Blois (2-1), the Bayeux team will now face Olympique de Marseille in the next round. The players from Régional 1 celebrated the announcement of this draw as it marks the biggest match in the club’s history.
