Former PSG Player Christophe Jallet Supports Marseille in European Matches
Former PSG player revels in Marseille’s triumph
Paris, December 2025 – In the world of French football, it’s often assumed that supporting Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) means harboring a deep-seated rivalry with Olympique de Marseille (OM). However, one former PSG player, now a sports consultant, defies this stereotype.
Christophe Jallet’s transition from player to analyst
After retiring from professional football in June 2020, Christophe Jallet smoothly transitioned into a career as a sports consultant. He initially joined Téléfoot and the Mediapro group before moving to Canal+ in 2021. At Canal+, Jallet contributes to the Canal Football Club and provides commentary on matches, particularly those in the UEFA Champions League. This season, his insights have been heard during games involving Olympique de Marseille.
Embracing Marseille’s European success
In a revealing interview with So Foot, Jallet shared his unexpected joy for Marseille’s victories in European competitions. “In European competitions, there’s a unique sense of pride supporting a French club. When I commented on Marseille’s match against Newcastle, I was genuinely thrilled to see them win,” he admitted. This sentiment underscores Jallet’s ability to appreciate French football success, irrespective of club rivalries.
Balancing loyalty and neutrality
Despite his PSG roots—having played with the team from 2009 to 2014—Jallet maintains a balanced perspective. “I have a special fondness for PSG, but during a PSG vs. Marseille match, I can’t play favorites. My role is for the viewers, not for myself,” he explained. This statement reflects his professional ethos and dedication to unbiased sports analysis, even as he recalls the transformative years of PSG under Qatari ownership starting in 2011.
