Bruno Genesio to Revamp Marseille Lineup for Crucial Clash Against PSG

After a setback in Istanbul, Bruno Génésio is set to make significant changes to Marseille’s lineup for their upcoming clash against PSG. Key players are expected to make a return, aiming to fortify the team.

Midfield reinforcement

**The midfield will see a pivotal transformation**. Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Himad Abdelli, and Angel Gomes are anticipated to form an adaptable trio. **With Geoffrey Kondogbia and Tochukwu Nnadi out**, options are limited. As a result, Højbjerg might take on a more defensive role, while Abdelli and Gomes focus on smoother transitions.

**In attack, Amine Gouiri is likely to reappear** at the forefront following Europa League trials. **Igor Paixão is a staple on the left**, and Amine Harit seems favored on the right, offering a dynamic inward movement. Although Keyliane Abdallah provides a more direct approach, the high-stakes nature of this match may lead Génésio to opt for seasoned players and technical prowess.

Defensive lineup restored

**Defense will feature Timothy Weah, CJ Egan-Riley, Nayef Aguerd, and Emerson**, positioned in front of goalkeeper Jeffrey De Lange. Génésio has indicated a move away from the five-man defense, which previously succeeded against PSG. **A more compact four-man formation** is preferred to ensure better alignment during turnovers.

Compared to the squad at Besiktas, **this lineup will be drastically different**. Génésio aims to rely on trusted players with a singular goal: regain stability before facing the reigning European champions.

**With four consecutive losses**, the stakes are higher than ever.

**Expected Marseille lineup against PSG**: De Lange – Weah, Egan-Riley, Aguerd, Emerson – Højbjerg, Abdelli, Angel Gomes – Harit, Gouiri, Paixão.
