Donnarumma Injured in PSG’s Victory; Singo Apologizes for Unintentional Foul
PSG seals victory against AS Monaco in compelling match
On Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain secured a decisive 4-2 victory over AS Monaco, effectively ending the title race suspense in Ligue 1. The match, part of the sixteenth round, was not only significant for the scoreline but also for an unfortunate incident involving the team’s goalkeeper.
The game took a dramatic turn when Gianluigi Donnarumma suffered a severe injury after a clash with Monaco defender Wilfried Singo. The Italian goalkeeper was left with facial injuries and had to leave the field, making way for his backup, Matvey Safonov. Surprisingly, Singo did not receive any disciplinary action for the challenge.
Singo apologizes for the unintended injury
Following the incident, Wilfried Singo took to social media to express his regret, saying, “I want to apologize to Gianluigi Donnarumma. My action was not intentional, but I later realized he had sustained a significant facial injury. I wish you a speedy recovery.”
PSG updates on Donnarumma’s condition
The Parisian club promptly provided an update on Donnarumma’s health, stating that he had suffered a “facial trauma with multiple wounds.” As a result, the ex-AC Milan star will be unavailable for the upcoming French Cup match against Racing Club de Lens this Sunday. However, there is hope he will return to action on January 5th during the Champions Trophy, where he’ll face off against Monaco once more.
