Cyril Hanouna Calls Kylian Mbappé’s Move to Real Madrid a Mistake
After spending seven years with Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappé made the bold decision not to extend his contract. As his agreement came to an end, he left the club on a free transfer and fulfilled his long-held dream of joining Real Madrid. This career choice has sparked significant criticism from French television host Cyril Hanouna, who believes Mbappé has made a grave mistake.
It was inevitable that Kylian Mbappé would eventually don the iconic white jersey of the Real Madrid. This summer, after years of speculation and missed opportunities, the French captain of the national team felt it was finally time to embark on this new chapter. However, Hanouna has voiced strong opposition to this move, asserting, “Kylian Mbappé: the biggest mistake of his life to go to Real Madrid. We’ll talk about it later, it’s going to be catastrophic. PSG has never played better than without him.”
“For me, Kylian Mbappé made the mistake of his life”
Speaking on Europe 1, Cyril Hanouna elaborated on why he believes Kylian Mbappé erred in leaving PSG for Real Madrid. He stated, “In my opinion, Kylian Mbappé made the biggest mistake of his life. I didn’t elaborate last time, but I will now. Winning the Champions League with Real Madrid is expected. Of course, winning the Champions League with Real Madrid is something everyone does. All players at Real Madrid eventually win the Champions League at some point.”
“He would have been the star at PSG”
Hanouna continued, “Winning the Ballon d’Or at Real Madrid is relatively easy. Benzema won it there. Mbappé should have stayed at PSG, won the Champions League with PSG, and earned the Ballon d’Or there. The club was ready to give him everything; it could have been his club. He would have been the main man at PSG.” According to Hanouna, Kylian Mbappé would have been better off remaining with PSG to achieve both the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or, making the victory all the more meaningful.
