Christophe Dugarry Criticizes Luis Enrique After PSG’s Defeat to Bayern Munich
PSG’s struggle continues: Luis Enrique under fire after Bayern defeat
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) faced another setback Tuesday night, suffering their third defeat in five Champions League matches. The French giants were narrowly beaten by Bayern Munich, with the match ending 0-1.
Head coach Luis Enrique has taken full responsibility for this defeat, acknowledging his role in the team’s poor start to the season in Europe’s elite competition.
Dugarry’s harsh critique of Enrique’s strategy
On Wednesday, Christophe Dugarry, the 1998 World Cup champion, delivered a scathing review of the Spanish manager’s tactics. Dugarry, a former Barcelona teammate of Enrique, did not hold back in his criticism following PSG’s disappointing performance in Munich.
“How can you field a lineup against Bayern that you’ve never worked on before?” questioned Dugarry. He pointed out the lack of a clear plan and expressed confusion over Enrique’s decision to play without a traditional center-forward.
Questionable tactics and lack of offensive strategy
Dugarry further expressed his belief that PSG had no coherent game plan at the Allianz Arena. “The only chances came from Bayern’s mistakes,” he noted, criticizing the team’s offensive strategy as catastrophic.
He questioned the purpose behind PSG’s approach, highlighting the team’s struggle to execute possession-based football against top-level opposition. “Paris isn’t a possession team. They fiddle with the ball, but when the level rises, they can’t cope,” he concluded.
