PSG’s Expected Lineup Against AS Monaco in Champions League Playoff
Ousmane Dembélé and Joao Neves are expected to start against AS Monaco in the first leg of the Champions League qualifiers.
Facing the challenge of missing key players Fabian Ruiz and Senny Mayulu, coach Luis Enrique remains optimistic about fielding a competitive team this Tuesday evening against AS Monaco at the Stade Louis II. Joao Neves, who suffered a shoulder injury during last Friday’s match against Rennes, has confirmed he is “pain-free” and “100%” fit. The Portuguese midfielder is set to kick off the match alongside compatriot Vitinha and W. Zaïre-Emery in the midfield. This lineup would allow Achraf Hakimi to take the right flank, as recent performances indicate he needs more rhythm.
In attack, a trio of Barcola, Dembélé, and Kvaratskhelia is likely to spearhead Paris Saint-Germain’s offense against Monaco. This would see Désiré Doué start on the bench, following inconsistent performances. Marquinhos, who was rested during the Rennes match, is expected to replace Zabarnyi and partner with Pacho in defense.
Expected PSG Lineup vs AS Monaco
Starting XI: Safonov – Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, N. Mendes – Vitinha, Neves, Zaïre-Emery – Barcola, Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia.
